Marco Wittmann completes BMW trio for Fuji Dream Race

Alongside Alex Zanardi and Kamui Kobayashi, the presence of Marco Wittmann in the BMW Motorsport contingent for the Dream Race DTM / Fuji's Super GT at the end of November couldn't be more logical.

The German remains the last driver to have won a crown for Munich in 2016, two years after his first coronation in the German touring car championship.

Once again the best representative of the firm with the propeller this year in DTM, with a third place in the general classification behind the untouchable Audi duo René Rast – Nico Müller, Marco Wittmann therefore offers a solid trio to BMW for the Japanese trip .

“We have already seen what a good reception the three Japanese cars received at Hockenheim, recalls Wittmann. This shows that the DTM is heading in the right direction when it comes to the future.

Sure, it'll mostly be a spectacle, but when the lights turn green, you just want to be at the front. »

In addition to the three BMW M4 DTMs, four Audi RS 5s will be traveling to Fuji, but none Aston Martin as confirmed by Dr Florian Kamelger earlier in the season, with R-Motorsport preferring to focus on preparing for the upcoming 2020 campaign.
