Maxime Martin and Fabio Leimer will test the BMW M3 DTM

BMW has equipped itself with the best elements in the discipline to make its return to German competition by signing in particular with Andy Priaulx (triple WTCC champion from 2006 to 2008), Bruno Spengler (11 victories in DTM), or even Martin Tomczyk (reigning champion with Audi). After having successfully returned to German competition, the German brand continues to closely observe the drivers who have defended its colors. Maxime Martin and Fabio Leimer will be invited to take part in a test session on the M3 DTM, racing alongside test driver Marco Wittmann.

Maxime Martin is gradually coming into his own as he currently occupies the head of Blancpain Endurance Series with a Z4 GT3 prepared by Marc VDS Racing which he shares with Markus Palttala and Bas Leinders. “I am very grateful to BMW for this opportunity”, comments the Belgian. “I have a very complete program behind me this year, notably with the BMW Z4 GT3. I've already loved working with them in the GT scene and I'm sure it will be the same in the DTM world. This test will give me great motivation before the final of the Blancpain Endurance Series held in Navarra where we will be determined to win the title. I'm going to enjoy every kilometer spent behind the wheel of the M3 DTM. »

Fabio Leimer is also closely followed by BMW. If the Swiss competes in the GP2 Series, the Racing Engineering driver stood out in 2006 when he arrived in German Formula BMW. “It's always exciting for a driver to take to the track in a car he doesn't know. The BMW M3 DTMs look fantastic and have already proven themselves capable of winning in the DTM. It's exceptional to be able to test this car soon. I've heard nothing but positive things about the new generation of DTM cars and I'm looking forward to getting a better idea of them. »
