Author of pole position for the smallest of margins (a little thousandth!) Saturday morning on the Norisring circuit in Nuremberg (Germany), Edward Mortara (Mercedes) had slightly more margin to sign his second victory of the season in the afternoon. Not much more: 681 thousandths ahead of Gary Paffett (Mercedes)!

The Swiss driver was never overtaken throughout the 68 laps of the urban turnstile. Edoardo Mortara only ceded control of the event during the pit stops. Indeed, three drivers waited until the very last loops to refuel: Robin Frijns (Audi, 12th, Pascal Wehrlein (Mercedes, 14th) and Mike Rockenfeller (Audi, 15th) and took over as interim.

Edoardo Mortara easily contained the threat embodied by the BMW M4 of Mark Wittman, who attempted an attack at the end of the main straight, without success. The German was even dropped by veteran Gary Paffett in the final third of the effort.
Leader in the general classification, Timo Glock (BMW) only scored one point with a 10th place final. For the manufacturer Audi, it is even worse since not an RS 5 DTM finishes in the Top 10. Passed through the stands at the start of the event, Loïc duval (Audi) finished 17th and penultimate.
