Nico Müller easy winner of the first Nürburgring race

Author of pole in qualifying, Nico Müller (Audi) confirmed this Saturday afternoon during the first race of the Nürburgring, on the GP track of the Eifel complex.

After an uneventful start for the pole sitter, Müller observed his stop at the end of the 12th lap, when Rast stopped at the end of the 13th lap, with Frijns waiting a lap later. Rast did not hesitate to contact the Dutchman immediately to regain his position on the track on the Dutch driver's exit lap.

After the burst of passage to the pits, Müller is ahead of Mike Rockenfeller, who entered the pitlane on the eighth lap and therefore on a shifted strategy, Rast and Frijns. On tires fresher than “Rocky”, Rast and Frijns wait until the 22nd lap to get the better of the 2013 champion and try to catch up with the leader Müller.

But with more than 10″ in advance, the leading driver in the championship has a solid cushion and calmly manages his end of the race to pocket his Behind, Rast finishes 2nd after having resisted the assaults of Frijns, the latter attempting a daring attack on the first turn, but going into a spin.

A figure that benefits Marco Wittmann who places his BMW M4 DTM on the last step of the podium. Rockenfeller and Frijns complete the top 5. After a slightly complicated start, but a nice move on Jamie Green (Audi) and Sheldon van der Linde (BMW) in the first laps, Loïc duval finished this first race 9th.
