Paffett: “Ready for the title”

Audi thought, at Zandvoort, it would be able to forget its recent disappointments and put its drivers back on the right track. But, again, it is Mercedes who did well, signing a new double, thanks to Gary Paffett and Paul di Resta. In addition to this collective performance, the two Britons took the opportunity to put themselves back in the title race, taking advantage of the seventh place of Bruno Spengler, leader of the general classification.

Gary Paffett, who took the lead from the start of the race, led from start to finish, having a smooth race. “ This track works really well for me, says the test pilot McLaren. Here you have to put maximum pressure and you can get a lot out of the car. This circuit is really difficult but, for me, I love driving here. Today, Bruno (Spengler) did not have a good race. I'm ready for the title. »

Following this race, Gary Paffett is in second place in the general classification of the discipline and is only nine points behind Bruno Spengler. Paul di Resta, two points behind Gary Paffett, can also dream of a title. Although the Force India test driver has not yet won this season, he has finished in second place three times. With five races remaining on the calendar, the season is far from over.
