Robin Frijns at Audi testing with the A4 DTM

Like every year, Audi organized a test session for several young drivers at the end of its season in DTM. These tests are dedicated to the discovery of the discipline for competitors since the model used, the Audi A4 DTM, has been replaced by the RS5 DTM corresponding to the current regulations. Supervised by Adrien Tambay and Timo Scheider, two regular drivers from the Ingolstadt manufacturer, future motorsport talents were able to take an interest in the German touring car discipline by participating in this event organized in Valencia.

While these tests should not lead to hasty speculation, it is interesting to note that Robin Frijns, 2012 Formula champion Renault 3.5 Series and former Sauber reserve driver, was present. The Dutchman was also accompanied by the British Jordan King and Harry Tincknell. The list is completed by Marvin Kirchhöfer, Alessandro Latif, Thomas Schöffler, Ferdinand Stuck and Stefan Wackerbauer.

“We consider this event as an investment in the future”, commented Dieter Gass, head of Audi's DTM department. “We are very happy with our current crew, but we like to offer an opportunity for young talents to discover behind the scenes of the DTM. This is how our current drivers also started and they are now in DTM or other disciplines. »
