Sébastien Loeb enters the DTM with Ferrari!

It never stops! At 48, Sébastien Loeb is launching a new challenge: participating in the German Touring Championship (DTM) in 2022 on a Ferrari 488 GT3. The Alsatian will play for the Italian team AF Corse, with the support of Red Bull et Alpha Tauri.

The nine-time world rally champion will contest two rounds of the DTM, replacing New Zealand starter Nick Cassidy. This one will be retained by his commitment in Formula E. We will therefore see the French star on the Portimao slide (Portugal, April 29-May 1) for the opening of the season. Next, Nick Cassidy will take his place again.
“Throughout my career, I have always liked to alternate between disciplines, explains Sébastien Loeb. The DTM is a famous championship and when the opportunity presented itself for me to participate in it, I grabbed it immediately. The Frenchman is well aware of the fact that he will face the world's best drivers in the discipline, but he is looking forward to the season opener: “Now it’s time to work. I'm going to compete against specialists and my last real race in GT3 was a long time ago. My goal will be to find my rhythm as best as I can and I will try to use my experience to give good technical feedback to the team on the car settings. I know it will be difficult but the cars are really fun to drive. »
Sébastien Loeb is no stranger to the world of Grand Tourism. In 2013, he competed in the FIA GT Series within his own team (Sébastien Loeb Racing) on a McLaren MP4-12C GT3 with four successes in association with Alvaro Parente. On several occasions, the Habs have tried their hand at Porsche Supercup curtain raiser F1 or at FFSAGT / GT Tour at the turn of the 2010s.
