BMW has confirmed the presence of Timo Glock at the Valencia tests this week. The former Marussia F1 Team driver could therefore turn to the German touring car discipline.

Timo Glock testing with the BMW M3 DTM

Timo Glock seemed to be in the mix for the 2013 season of F1More Marussia F1 Team surprised yesterday by announcing the termination of contract with the German. After six seasons contested in the premier single-seater discipline, including three with the Russian team (formerly called Virgin Racing), the native of Lindenfels must look for an exit route to continue his career, the list of drivers entered being practically complete. BMW is offering him this opportunity by inviting him to the test session organized this week in Valencia with the M3 DTM who won the Drivers (with Bruno Spengler), Manufacturers and Teams titles upon the return of the Bavarian brand to the German discipline.

Timo Glock has long defended the manufacturer's colors at the Hélice since he started in 2000 in Formula BMW Junior before winning the Formula BMW ADAC the following season. The German driver joined the BMW Sauber F1 Team in 2007, the year he won the GP2 Series title. “I have many memories with BMW Motorsport and I am very much looking forward to driving the M3 DTM.
