Sheldon van der Linde (BMW) got his first pole in DTM by winning qualifying for Race 2 in Zolder. The rookie, who will be making his 4th start in the discipline, completed a lap of the Belgian circuit in 1'21''590, 6 thousandths ahead of René Rast (Audi).
Philipp Eng (BMW), Saturday's winner, will share the second row of the grid with Robin Frijns (Audi). Timo Glock (BMW) took 5th place ahead of Mike Rockenfeller (Audi), Marco Wittmann (BMW), Jonathan Aberdein (Audi), Jamie Green (Audi) and Joel Eriksson (BMW). Loïc duval (Audi) finished at the foot of the Top 10.
The Aston Martin Vantage are still behind, with Jake Dennis best placed in 13th place. Paul di Resta completed the ranking after causing a red flag. The Scot stopped on the track following a mechanical problem.
