Victory for Bruno Spengler at Hockenheim

Bruno Spengler had an eventful start at Hockenheim, as Audi driver Mattias Ekström, who started alongside him on the grid, attempted an attack from the first corner. But the Canadian from Mercedes finally managed to maintain his first position at the end of the race, at the same time logically taking the lead in the classification.

At the wheel of his Audi A4 DTM, the Swede Mattias Ekström crossed the line in second position, his place on the grid, just like Ralf Schumacher (Mercedes) which celebrates its first podium in the discipline. Timo Scheider and Martin Tomczyk, both driving Audi A4s, finished fourth and fifth respectively.

Gary Paffett, 2010 runner-up, had an impressive race. Starting from the back of the grid, the Briton made numerous overtakes to grab sixth place.
