Video. Red flag at Lausitzring after René Rast's accident

His face covered with dust, Rene Rast extricated himself as best he could from his destroyed Audi RS5. The German rolled over during the first laps of Race 1 of the DTM at the Lausitzring (Germany) early Saturday afternoon at high speed.

Following contact with the Audi of Loïc duval, the reigning champion took off, spinning in the grassy areas before suddenly falling back on his wheels. Stunned, René Rast however got out of the car under his own power.

The race had to be stopped at the red flag to clear the track and remove the carcass from the side of the road.
