Video: Audi's farewell to the DTM
From the Audi TT to the Audi RS5 Turbo via the A4, the A5 and the RS5. For twenty years, the brand with the rings has walked the slopes of DTM under the official Audi Sport banner. While Mercedes, BMW or Opel came or went along the way, Audi participated in all the campaigns of the modern version of the DTM created in 2000.
This weekend, René Rast's title marked the end of an era, since the manufacturer officially withdrew from competition. If Audis are expected to race in 2021 in the new GT3 formula, they will be entered by customer teams.
To celebrate these twenty years of loyalty, Audi has produced a seven-minute video retracing its history in the championship and the fanfare ending in 2020. Here it is in full:
