Green wins at the last minute on the Norisring

If Timo Scheider maintains his pole position at the start, Katherine Legge (5th) stalls and slips to 14th position. On the first lap, a collision sent Jarvis and Kostka into trouble, who returned to the pits but retired shortly after. As the safety car returned to the track, Ekström overtook Scheider and took the lead, before the German regained his lead at the restart.

If the rain starts to fall thinly, the positions remain frozen until the first pit stops. After a difficult start to the season, Alexandre Prémat posted a good provisional eighth place. Unfortunately for the Frenchman, he collided with Di Resta on the 37th lap and ended his race against the safety rails. Clearly, Prémat is having a very complicated season. Mario Engel had to retire in turn, despite his mechanics' attempt to push him into the pit line to help him restart.

After the second pit stop, Timo Scheider still leads the race and is heading towards a great victory, but his lead over Spengler and Green remains very slim. And the last rounds will experience many upheavals. Green manages to take second place from Spengler, and later, the lead of the race from Scheider. The latter, in addition to the victory, lost the podium, seeing Spengler and Ekström infiltrate the breach. It was therefore in the 79th and penultimate lap that the Norisring race was decided, which Jamie Green finally won, on Mercedes.
