Jamie Whincup confirmed at Red Bull Holden Racing in 2021

Si Shane van gisbergen already had a contract extension validated until 2021 with Red Bull Holden Racing / Triple Eight Engineering, the future of Jamie Whincup remained unresolved.

In recent hours, the possibility of seeing the seven-time champion and true legend of the discipline extend his contract had nevertheless appeared. It didn't take long to see Triple Eight Engineering confirm a contract extension for Whincup.

“My penchant for racing, speed and trying to beat my teammates to the finish line started when I was seven years old,” says Whincup. Any idea of stopping full-time flying this year doesn't sit well with me.

I feel like I have a lot to offer this sport behind the wheel. While I'm fully focused on this year's championship and delivering results for our teammates, sponsors and Red Bull Holden fans, it's good to know that all the fun will continue into 2021."

As the Supercars site reminds us, the recent announcement by General Motors to stop all activity of the Holden brand by 2021, still leaves unresolved which car will be used by the Triple Eight Engineering team, which wears the Red Bull badge since 2013.
