Kelvin van der Linde snatches pole at Monza

The day of his birthday, Kelvin van der Linde (Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo n°3 – Abt) took pole position for the second race of the DTM in Monza.

The South African signed the reference time in 1'46″604, 78 thousandths ahead of yesterday's winner Liam Lawson (Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo n°30 – Red Bull AF Corsica).

Next in hand, Sheldon van der Linde (BMW M6 GT3 n°31 – ROWE Racing), Nico Müller (Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo n°51 – Team Rosberg), Esteban Muth (Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo n°10 – T3 Motorsport) and Vincent Abril (Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo n°5 – HRT), grouped into 18 thousandths.

12th time for Alex Albon (Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo n°23 – Alpha Tauri AF Corse), while Esmee Hawkey (Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo n°26 – T3 Motorsport) and Sophia Flörsch (Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo n°99 – Abt) finished 16th and 19th.

DTM Race 2 at Monza will start at 13:15 p.m.
