Kristensen inherits victory at Hockenheim

The victory was not undeserved for the Dane as the endurance specialist remained in ambush from Mattias Ekström throughout the weekend. However, everything started well for the Swede. Starting in the lead, he led the race for a long time, ahead of Krsitensen and Scheider for more than three quarters of the race.

Starting from eighth place, it was Markus Winkelhock who put on a show at the start of the race, grabbing places lap after lap, ending up in fourth position halfway through the race. On the French side, Alexandre Prémat?s hopes were quickly dashed. Hit by a losing Gary Paffett on the first lap, the Audi Bank team driver had to return to the pits on the first lap, with damaged suspension. The Briton continues to cause damage as his bonnet flies off Ralf's windshield Schumacher, who must return to the pit to repair.

The final victory is decided in the last laps of the track. While Ekström flew towards a logical victory, the Swede suffered a puncture at the left rear and had to pit for a third time. He returned to the track, but had to let the other Audi A4s compete for victory. Tom Kristensen resists the return of Timo Scheider and offers himself a prestigious success, ahead of the German by less than half a second! The Dane wins the first race of the season, a season which will be the last for the man who wishes to devote himself completely to endurance from 2010.
