Kristensen regains pole

The race promises to be beautiful this Sunday. With five Audi drivers in the first five places, the debates are likely to be lively. For the first time this season, Tom Kristensen will start in the lead. The Dane, since his victory in the opening round at Oschersleben, has not been as brilliant since. This Saturday, he was almost untouchable. Author of the best time in Q2, Q3 and Q4, the record holder for victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans sent a strong signal to his adversaries.

After a first skimming in Q1, Q2 failed some renowned drivers. Ralf Schumacher, rarely at the forefront, qualified in 14th position before failing in Q2, just like Gary Paffett. The winner of the Zandvoort race, only twelfth, thus carried out a bad operation in preparation for the race.

Among the confirmations, Alexandre Prémat?s seventh place should reassure the driver. Not very happy with his 2008 model Audi at the start of the year, the Frenchman achieved a second good result in qualifying. He will start on Sunday behind Oliver Jarvis and Bruno Spengler.

In the leading quartet, the omnipresence of Audi gives hope for a competitive start to the race. Mattias Ekström fourth, Martin Tomczyk third, Timo Scheider second? Three of the first four in the general classification, fighting for the title of champion of DTM, will try to pounce on Tom Kristensen from the first corner. But the Dane, who is in his last season in DTM, will want to score a regular victory. Indeed, during his victory at Hockenheim, he took advantage of the puncture of Mattias Ekström, who had been ultra-dominant until then. This time, Tom Kristensen is the boss. And the Dane hopes to show it on the track.
