KTM unveils its X-BOW GTX targeting the GT2 category

After Porsche and Audi, and while we were waiting McLaren, it is finally KTM which could strengthen the GT2 category promoted by SRO Motorsports.

The Austrian brand, already present in GT4, with the X-BOW, has unveiled its X-BOW GTX with a demonic technical sheet. Before applying any Balance of Performance, the X-BOX GTX displays 600 hp from a 5-cylinder 2,5 liter TFSi Audi unit for a mass of 1000 kg. A ratio of less than 2 kg per hp.

The car will be developed by a well-known structure in GT competition, namely Reiter Engineering, already at the helm for the development of the Lamborghini Gallardo GT3. As Hans Reiter confirms, “the first 20 copies will be available this year.

According to the approval by SRO Motorsports, it will then be able to compete in the GT2 series. » Still depending on the homologation, the car could also race in various series such as the 24H Series, the GT Open, or even the Nürburgring Endurance Series. Note that KTM plans to launch its own one-make cup in 2021.

KTM hopes to see a KTM X-BOW GT2 lined up in an SRO series this fall. The promoter allows cars meeting the GT2 technical regulations to compete in GT Sportsclub in Europe, but also in the United States and Asia.
