Lamera Cup Dijon – Team Lamera champion

The last event of the Lamera Cup season, the Dijon-Prenois meeting was also the liveliest. A predictable observation insofar as this Burgundian final was to decide the Elite, Pro-Am and Gentleman titles. After qualifying played the day before in persistent rain, the start was given on Saturday morning on a wet track. Gradually drying out, the Prenois track was the scene of a particularly intense race, punctuated by racing incidents that shook up the general classification. We will particularly note the disappointment of the ETC Racing 1 trio (Dufour, Parsa, Ayari), 4th on the grid and 2nd in the general classification before Dijon.

Victim of an opponent's enthusiasm on the first lap, Lamera #421 was left to spend 50 minutes in the pits before returning to the track. The Lamera Scania-Chandioux (Depp, Provost, Piette) and CTF Corpoboost (Poret, Corbie, Boust) were also collateral victims in this incident.

Before Dijon, the CTF Corpoboost trio was in the running for the Pro-Am title. Despite a courageous race, a significant pit stop condemned the Lamera #29 to crossing the line in 26th position. A result which deprived her of any chance of a title.

In the Gentleman category, we will remember the thoughtful race of the West Motors by ETC crew, 2nd in the category before Dijon. Just worried by an alternator problem mid-race, Lamera #19 managed to place 5th in the race and best representative of the Gentleman category. A performance of choice which allows the trio Galland, Peyrrad, Mengolli to win the Gentleman title. In the Elite category, we will note the abandonment shortly before the halfway point of the Continental Racing race. Too bad because the trio Fargier, Coué, Billet were aiming for victory after starting from pole position.

We will also remember the abandonment of the Alma Racing-Tremblaye team due to a broken gearbox and the final 22nd place of the Scania France team, slowed down by several technical problems. Another leader of the Elite, Team TTM 75 (Di Duca, Soave, Dorchy) was content with a final 14th place when Team Lamera, who was looking to win at the start of the race, finally crossed the finish line in 3rd position. The disappointments recorded by crews usually playing the leading roles gave rise to an unprecedented ranking since the Pro-Am AMS Propreté by CTF crew took the overall victory after having kept away from incidents. The family trio composed of Christophe, Fabien and Tristan Héliou took advantage of this performance to win the title in the Pro-Am category. The Elite Castelmore by Asphalte and Team Lamera crews complete the podium. They are also the only representatives of their category in the Top 10.

Ten years after its creation, the Lamera Cup reached a milestone this season. If the number of entrants is incredibly large with around thirty cars and more than a hundred drivers per race, if the number of hours of driving is also very high – more than 120 hours including a race lasting more than 24 hours -, the championship has been able to gain notoriety without sacrificing one of its fundamentals: the conviviality which prevails within the paddock. This bodes well for next season which should introduce interesting new features, which will be announced soon.
