Lamera Cup Valencia – Continental Racing wins C1

Three weeks after the 26 Hours of Portimao, the Lamera Cup returned to the circuits. This time in Spain, on the Ricardo Tormo de Valencia route. A unique meeting since the championship had never taken place there during its – already – ten years of existence.

Of the 28 crews entered at this Spanish meeting, it was Continental Racing (Fargier, Maire, Coué) which took pole position for the first race of the weekend. A 5 hour event contested this Saturday. On a track that the Lamera Cup had never visited since its creation in 2012, the crew of Lamera #40 once again demonstrated its peak speed. Better still, he finally managed to thwart the bad luck that had kept him away from the podiums since the 2nd round of the championship – Misano at the end of April – by claiming victory.

Continental Racing hadn't tasted champagne since the 2021 Jerez race a year ago. We will remember the very good performance of the Alma Racing-Tremblaye crew (Loeul, Ettienne, Tremblaye), second. A welcome result for the crew of Lamera #65, who had experienced a particularly difficult race at Portimao in mid-September.

Second in the provisional general classification, the ETC Racing-1 crew (Dufour, Parsa, Demigneux) completes the podium. Among the Elite, we note the absence at the forefront of the championship leader, Team Lamera (Wilfried, Thomas and Matteo Merafina). Second at the end of qualifying, only 16th at the finish, the #62 Lamera spent ten laps in the pits to resolve a mechanical problem.

Among the lessons of this race, we will remember the competitiveness of the Pro-Am crews. Six Lameras entered in the category were in the top 10 once they took the checkered flag. Second in the general Pro-Am classification before Valencia, the CTF Corpoboost crew (Poret, Corbie, Boust) took a very good 4th place overall at the same time as it won its category after a fratricidal fight with its pit neighbor , the AMS Propreté by CTF crew (Christophe, Fabien and Tristan Héliou).

The latter, 2nd in the race, remains more than ever in the running for the Pro-Am title. Among the Gentlemans, we will remember the bad luck of the Ange Barde by ETC team (Lurol, Czimer, Piquet), dominating throughout the event and finally 3rd after being the victim of a racing incident. The category victory went to the Fast Kukki Racing trio (Kukki, Daniel and Léo Hubert).

This Sunday, the start of the long weekend race, lasting 7 hours, will be given at 9:30 a.m.
