The DTM ready for its revolution at Monza

Direction Monza (Italy) for the 21 competitors of the season DTM from June 18 to 20. It is a new era that the German championship is about to begin, the era of touring cars in DTM having ended in 2020. This new season will take place aboard cars in the GT3 category.

 

 

Gerhard Berger took a fairly risky gamble by changing his philosophy for the flagship Over-the-Rhine discipline. It was a good thing for him since the teams but also the manufacturers followed this new course. 6 brands will be at the start on the very fast Italian route. Big names are also announced: Nico Müller (Audi-Team Rosberg), Daniel Juncadella (Mercedes- GruppeM Racing), Gary Paffett (Mercedes- Mücke Motorsport), Maximilian Götz (Mercedes- Team HRT).

Monaco will be presented by Vincent Abril (Mercedes- Team HRT), Alex Albon the former Alpha Tauri driver in Formula 1 will be retained at the French GP (as a reserve for Red Bull). Nick Cassidy replaces him in the Ferrari of the Alpha Tauri AF Corse team. Two women are lined up at the start of this season, Sophia Flörsch (Audi-Abt Sportline) and Esmee Hawkey at the wheel of a Lamborghini from the T3 team.

 

The calendar is made up of 8 meetings: Monza June 18-20, Norisring date to be confirmed, Lausitzring July 23-25, Zolder August 6-8, Nürburgring August 20-22, Red Bull ring September 3-5, Assen September 17-19 , Hockenheim October 1-3
