Mattias Ekström finds success again

Mattias Ekström, who started in pole position, ran the perfect race to win this Sunday in Valencia. Long in the race for the title last year, the Swede collected podiums but failed to record a single victory. This time, it's done, Mattias Ekstöm has finally surpassed this number thirteen and records his fourteenth victory in DTM. If the duels were close for the places of honor, Mattias Ekström was impeccable at the head of the race.

« Last year I didn?t win once, says Ekström. So today I can rejoice. This is what we should always do after a race but we already have to concentrate on the next race. However, when you haven't won in a long time, you realize how nice it is to win. Today everything worked perfectly. »

« My thanks go to Audi and my team, Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline, continues Ekström. The tires also held up (at Hockenheim, Audi suffered from tire wear problems, editor's note). I was a little scared when I felt vibrations but it was just some dirt on the tires. The ten championship points feel really good. »
