Nascar – Logano wins in Michigan

Joey Logano (Team Penske) punches his ticket to the Chase by signing his first victory of the season at Michigan International Raceway where he had already won in 2013 after starting from pole. The driver of the No. 2 Ford, whose last success dates back to Talladega (Alabama) in 2015, won his duel against Chase Elliott (Hendrick Motorsports), another contender for first place, by widening his lead during the last restart a few laps from the finish.

Jeff Gordon's replacement finally finished eight tenths behind the winner, ahead of Kyle Larson (Chip Ganassi Racing), Brad Keselowski (Team Penske) and Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing).

This race was an opportunity for Nascar Sprint Cup to test a new aero package making driving the cars even more difficult.
