Kimi Räikkönen is having fun in the United States. In Uncle Sam's country, the retiree from the Formula 1 continues its preparations for the round of Nascar Cup Series at the Watkins Glen circuit (New York) on August 21.
The 42-year-old Finn was able to test the Trackhouse Racing team's number 1 Chevrolet Camaro ZL91 on the hilly circuit of Virginia International Raceway (VIR) this Thursday, August 11. The 1 Formula 2007 world champion with the Team Ferrari clearly quickly adapted to driving the beast equipped with a 8-liter V5.9 developing 560 horsepower.
Lots of great things happened today!

A few hours later, “Iceman” went to the premises of the team co-founded by rapper Pitbull to conduct pit stop exercises. Kimi Räikkönen is not his first attempt on the other side of the Atlantic. In 2011 during his sabbatical period away from the world of Formula 1, Iceman competed on the Charlotte oval in the Nationwide Series (the 2nd division now called the Xfinity Series) as well as in the Truck Series. This time, it is in the premier category that he will prove himself.

Kimi Räikkönen's participation in the Watkins Glen road round is part of the framework of Project91 with the aim of extending the visibility of Nascar internationally by entrusting the No. 91 Camaro to foreign drivers.
