Kyle Busch earned his 63rd victory in NASCAR Cup Series this Sunday at World Wide Technology Raceway.
- After starting from pole position, Kyle Busch survived five cautions in the final 40 laps to beat Denny Hamlin on the line. Bubba Wallace, victim of brake problems, caused the 11th yellow flag on lap 236 of 240 and sent the race into overtime.
- After only 5 laps the race was suspended due to lightning in the Illinois sky. As in many American sports, the presence of lightning near the circuit results in a 30-minute suspension. We finally had to wait 1 hour 45 minutes before the test resumed.
- This victory is Busch's first on the 1,25 mile track in Madison, Illinois and already his third for Richard Childress Racing with whom he is competing in his first season!

- The first segment was won by Kyle Busch while the second went to recent Coca Cola winner Ryan Blaney. The latter finished 6th and continued his good series by taking the lead in the general classification of the regular season.
- Corey LaJoie finished a frustrating 21st place and certainly missed a unique opportunity to shine. He was replacing Chase Elliott, who was serving a one-race suspension for intentionally crashing into Hamlin at very high speed during the Coca-Cola 600 last Monday at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
- See you next Sunday at Sonoma Raceway.
