Liam Hezemans won the EuroNASCAR 2 championship last season. Six months later, Hezemans won his first competitive race in the EuroNASCAR PRO elite after leading all 18 laps of the race at the Ricardo Tormo circuit. The Dutchman took the lead from the start and never left it during a race contested entirely under green flag. This victory is his fifth in a row since October 2022.

The next day, it was the turn of our tricolor Lucas Lasserre to put himself forward. At the end of a formidable battle against Martin Doubek, the Speedhouse Racing driver took his first victory since 2018 and gave Speedhouse the team's second EuroNASCAR PRO victory since its debut in 2017. Owner, engineer and coach dr the team had not planned to jump into the #64 Ford Mustang in 2023, but with the cockpit proving free for the opening of the season, the Biarritz resident decided to take the wheel at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain… A happy decision!

“It’s been a long time since I imposed myself, said Lasserre, both excited and tired in Victory Lane. I needed to focus on my role as a team manager and team owner, but I entered that race and I won! A big thank you to everyone who stayed with me this winter, it was a great time and a good mood at Speedhouse! »

Winner the day before, Hezemans had less luck, coming into contact with Ercoli. The reigning EuroNASCAR 2 champion had to retire and park his car in the gravel trap at Turn 4, inheriting a 10-second penalty and three penalty points.

La NASCAR Whelen Euro Series 2023 will stop on June 17-18 at the Brands Hatch Circuit in the United Kingdom for the 10th edition of the popular American SpeedFest. Qualifying and all races will be broadcast live on the EuroNASCAR YouTube channel.
