Double Xfinity Series Champion 2018 and 2019, Tyler Reddick won his third race this season after a Texas round again marked by rain with a 1-hour interruption. A bad habit this season which had the advantage of refreshing the spirits within a very turbulent peloton.
Le début de course s’était avéré un calvaire pour la Joe Gibbs Racing et Toyota. Si Martin Truex Jr. pouvait reprendre la piste après avoir perdu le contrôle de sa Camry au 40rd lap, it was over for Kyle Busch who also made a mistake 10 laps later. Another sad abandonment for the Las Vegas driver who must be eager for this season to end.
More serious, it was a candidate for the title who had to give up when Christopher Bell hit the wall because of a puncture at 77e lap before having to leave the stage permanently 60 laps later following new contact. The fourth thief of the JGR, Denny Hamlin, seemed on a mission to restore the image of his team and showed his usual aggressiveness on the track to compete for the victory of the first segment with Kyle Larson who finally won. Meanwhile, Hendrick Motorsports had lost Alex Bowman in an accident.
The second segment was marked by the violent exit of Cody Ware who ended up in the pit wall, fortunately without damage to the driver and mechanics. The leader of the classification Chase Elliott in turn suffered a puncture shortly before the end of the section and had to abandon his car on fire.

Ryan Blaney took the second segment before the rain stopped the cars for an hour. At the restart, Chris Buescher and Kevin Harvick stood out at the front of the peloton but both lost any chance of victory when they went off the track. Denny Hamlin once again offered us a festival of aggression against William Byron, with numerous contacts and ultimately a passage into the grass of the infield for the Toyota driver. All this was settled like gentlemen with big blows of the bumpers under a yellow flag to the great pleasure of the spectators...

A final neutralization 25 laps from the finish launched the final battle between Tyler Reddick and Joey Logano. Reddick managed to contain the attacks of the 2018 Champion to pocket his third career victory. A victory to be credited to his team which had given him the advantage on the track by only changing two tires during his final visit to the pits.
It should be noted that with this victory for Tyler Reddick, it is once again a driver eliminated from the Playoffs who wins. If Joey Logano now occupies first place in the general classification ahead of Ross Chastain, the candidates for the title will have to raise their level of play in the next races.
