Operated, van Gisbergen will be well at Sandown

No luck. Obviously a cycling enthusiast, Shane van Gisbergen went out on a mountain bike this Saturday, free from competition. Unfortunately, the winner of the first two races of the season at Bathurst suffered an accident.

Taken into care, the Triple Eight pilot underwent surgery on his collarbone on which a pin was placed.

« Shane van Gisbergen recovering from successful collarbone surgery following mountain biking accident this morning », writes his team.

The question then arose as to a possible absence for the second round of the Supercars season. Don't panic, Shane van Gisbergen will indeed be present at Sandown, his team indicated (March 20-21). Something to reassure fans.

On the other hand, he will miss the start of the GT World Challenge Australia season scheduled for next weekend at Phillip Island. He will be replaced by Jamie Whincup.
