For its first season in DTM, the alliance R-Motorsport / HWA, which will exploit the license Aston Martin via its joint venture Vynamic GmbH, will be able to count on the experience of Paul DiResta.
The former champion of the discipline (2010) was engaged last year with Mercedes (whose program was managed by HWA), and took the final third place in the general classification, with three victories to boot.
Di Resta is the first of four recruits for R-Motorsport / HWA, a logical choice given her history in the category and her overall motorsport experience.
“It will certainly not be easy to challenge experienced brand competition (Audi and BMW) with our comparatively smaller group, admits the Briton. However, my impression of the professionalism and ambition of our team is very positive.
I look forward to driving the Aston Martin Vantage DTM car in the first tests and contributing to its development. »
The Aston Martin DTMs are expected to be present at the first event of the season at Hockenheim on May 4-5.
