While the gray clouds were threatening above Mount Panorama this morning, the rain ultimately did not appear. A boon for drivers who were able to ride very fast like Cameron Waters.
In good form since the start of the weekend, the Tickford Racing driver took the position in this Top 10 Shootout of the Bathurst 1000. Thanks to a time of 2'03"559, the Australian relegated champion Scott McLaughlin (Team Penske) at 442 thousandths.
Third placed Chaz Mostert (Andretti United) saw his Bathurst Top 10 Shootout record broken by Cameron Waters' incredible ride at Mount Panorama this Saturday morning.

« I am so happy, enjoyed Cameron Waters after taking pole at the Bathurst 1000. It was amazing, I had so much fun (...) I knew the marks I needed to register so I went out and did it. I knew we were going to ride faster than in practice and I gave everything ».
Nick Percat (Brad Jones Racing) and Shane van Gisbergen (Triple Eight) complete the Top 5 of this Shootout.
The start of the Bathurst 1000 is scheduled for 2:30 a.m. (French time) this Sunday.
