R-Motorsport finally lifts the veil on its Aston Martin Vantage DTM

This ride was only a shakedown, but it finally allowed us to see that the entire microcosm of the DTM was waiting firmly. R-Motorsport – HWA have finally put on track, and therefore revealed in broad daylight, their Aston Martin Vantage DTM, which will be operated this year by the Vynamic entity.

Paul Di Resta, starting driver this season alongside Jake Dennis, Ferdinand Habsburg and Daniel Juncadella, had the scoop on this first installation lap and the five following loops, before the DTM tests which will take place from tomorrow at Jerez in Spain.

“The technical team did a fantastic job, recalls Dr Florian Kamelger, Team Principal of R-Motorsport. Preparing the Aston Martin Vantage DTM in less than 100 days must be a DTM record.

The Vantage is absolutely stunning to look at and Paul's first impressions are promising. Although we still have a lot of work ahead of us before the season starts at Hockenheim, we can be sure that we have the right foundations for the car. »

The Aston Martin Vantage DTM, while it retains the appearance of its production sister, has been adapted to meet the new 2019 technical regulations, the famous Class 1 shared with the Super GT, including a front splitter, a diffuser and a specific rear spoiler. The Vantage also swaps the standard V8 for a 2,0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, offering nearly 620 hp to drivers.

Di Resta, with the most experience in the category, will be the driver lined up for the first two days of Andalusian testing. Jake Dennis then Ferdinand Habsburg will drive the following two days.
