Richie Stanaway joins GRM

Garry Rogers Motorsport will benefit from the support of Boost Mobile in 2019, at the same time as the arrival of the New Zealander Richie Stanaway. The latter, seen in recent years in WEC in Aston Martin Racing, has until now been competing with Tickford Racing and the Ford Falcon FG X, after a first full campaign last year.

The winner of the 500 Sandown 2017, under the Prodrive Racing Australia banner, ousts Garth Tander, 2007 champion and three-time winner of the Bathurst 1000, from the seat of the No. 33 Holden Commodore. James Golding will be his teammate for the season in the No. 34. Stanaway will also want to forget a disappointing 2018 campaign with Tickford Racing.

“My approach last year and my attitude, which often came from my own frustration, was sometimes wrong, recognizes Stanaway. I apologize to the people and fans who supported me and believed in me. GRM and Boost Mobile gave me a chance and I am committed to giving 100% and doing what it takes with the team to win. »

It now remains to be seen what the future holds for Garth Tander, who could notably play the role of luxury teammate in endurance events.
