Sandown replaces Melbourne on the calendar
This Tuesday, Formula 1 has confirmed that the Australian Grand Prix at Melbourne's Albert Park has been postponed until next November. A postponement which therefore affects the 2021 Supercars season.
Planned to support the GP of Formula 1, the Melbourne round of Supercars was logically canceled. If they are evaluating the opportunity to reschedule it for November, the date of the new Australian Grand Prix, the organizers have already found a solution for the second race weekend of the season.
The Sandown circuit has been chosen to host the grid from March 18 to 21 instead of Albert Park in Melbourne. “ We are delighted to confirm that we will be returning to Sandown in 2021, savors Sean Seamer, boss of Supercars. Few circuits can bear witness to our history like Sandown ».
The 2021 season will begin with the Mount Panorama 500 at Bathurst before the meeting at Sandown. The Melbourne round hopes to be rescheduled for the month of November.
