SRO shakes up GT World Challenge Asia schedule due to coronavirus

The opening of the 2020 GT World Challenge Asia season will not take place in Sepang, Malaysia, on March 28 and 29. Due to the coronavirus, the circuit which hosted the Grand Prix F1 of Malaysia announced its closure until April 30, forcing SRO Motorsports to postpone the round for the time being.

The entity led by Stéphane Ratel is also postponing the second Buriram event in Thailand (April 25-26), to ensure the safety of its members and all those involved in the series.

To compensate for these postponements, a round at Autopolis in Japan is already included in the schedule on July 11 and 12, following the first two events of the new calendar, at Fuji (May 23-24) and Suzuka (20 -21st of June).

The two races in Shanghai in September and October remain for the moment, the season ending on a date to be determined, on a circuit also unknown to date.
