Success marred by penalty for Red Bull Holden Racing Team

Team Red Bull Holden Racing saw the Pukekohe event (New Zealand) as an opportunity to raise its head after a difficult half-season of 2019 Supercars. But even when you win a race, the bad news keeps coming.

Author on the track of a double in Race 1 with Shane van Gisbergen ahead of Jamie Whincup, the official Holden team received the unpleasant announcement after the official ceremony. The seven-time champion was penalized 15 seconds for contact with Nick Percat in the second round, and fell to sixth place.

“There wasn't much else I could do to avoid the collision., defended Jamie Whincup. I'm going to talk to him about it, he came back on my trajectory harder than I expected. »

The championship leader, Scott McLaughlin (Ford) is content with fourth place.
