The English driver will make his debut in Japan in the most prestigious race on the Super GT calendar.

Super GT – Button will participate in the Suzuka 1000km

After the Monaco Grand Prix where he replaced Fernando Alonso, Jenson Button continues its return to high-level motor racing. The 2009 world champion F1 was confirmed within the Team Mugen to pilot the NSX-GT during 1000 km from Suzuka which will take place on August 27.

« After driving the NSX Concept-GT for Honda's "Thanks Day" last December, I became interested in the Super GT, says the pilot McLaren. I spoke about it with Honda and they are giving me the opportunity to ride for the Suzuka 1000 km.

« As a Formula 1 driver and member of Team Mugen, I aim for victory. I'm really looking forward to riding in front of my Japanese fans again. »

Within Team Mugen, Button will be accompanied by Hideki Mutoh and Daisuke Nakajima. The Englishman will take his first laps of the season during tire tests on June 6 and 7.
