Tarquini wins calm Race 1 at Aragon

La première course de la journée à Aragon a délivré son verdict. Et c’est le vétéran du plateau, Gabriele Tarquini qui a remporté la course 1. Il a mené une course plutôt calme au volant de sa Hyundai. Parti en pole position suite au système de grille inversée, il n’a jamais quitté le commandement de la course.

Behind it is the Spanish driver Mikel Azcona who takes the second step of the podium in front of another veteran of the paddock, the Dutchman Tom Coronel. Fighting with Frenchman Nathanaël Berthon until the last lap, the Audi RS 3 team driver took the best to get on the podium.

In the rest of the peloton, the race was rather calm. No accident has been reported. Note that the Hondas undergo the new BoP (Balance of Performance) and finish far in the hierarchy.

The only retirement from race 1 was for Robert Huff, due to mechanical problems. Championship leader Jean-Karl Vernay finished 2nd.
