Toyota confirms its Super GT and Super Formula crews

Defeated over the last hectometers of the last meeting of last year at Fuji by Honda, Toyota intends to recover the Super GT crown in 2021. Thanks to its Toyota Customizing & Development department, the Japanese firm will be represented through six teams and therefore six GR Supras this season.

Runner-up in 2020, Ryo Hirakawa will begin a new campaign at the wheel of the No. 37 KeePer TOM'S. The local will be accompanied this year by Sacha Fenestraz. Kazuya Oshima and Kenta Yamashita will form the crew of the No. 14.

Once again entered in Super GT, Heikki Kovalainen has been entrusted with the No. 39 Denso Kobelco Sard which he will share with Yuichi Nakayama.

On the Super Formula side, Toyota Customizing & Development will supply a 4-litre inline 2-cylinder direct injection turbo petrol engine to six teams in this new season.

The Kenta Yamashita-Sacha Fenestraz duos; Kamui Kobayashi-Yuuji Kunimoto; Yuhi Sekiguchi-Ryo Hirakawa; Kazuki Nakajima-Ritomo Miyata and Sho Tsuboi-Haruna Sakaguchi will defend the interests of the teams provided by Toyota.

Kazuya Oshima, for his part, is once again entered under the Rookie Racing banner in 2021.
