A Rossi – Hinchcliffe duo for Walkinshaw Andretti United in Bathurst

It is a triangular Walkinshaw Racing – Andretti Autosport – United Autosports which will be in charge of the entry of the “wildcard” Holden Commodore allocated to the team for the big meeting of Bathurst 1000, on October 13, for the opening of the 2019 Supercars Enduro Cup.

The Walkinshaw Andretti United will be able to count on a duo with the scent ofIndyCar, with the American Alexander Red, top driver for Andretti Autosport, and James Hinchcliffe, resident of Schmidt Peterson Motorsports in the American series.

The car will be flanked by the number 27 (Rossi's number in IndyCar) and will be operated by a team where staff members from the Andretti Autosport and United Autosports structures will officiate, in addition to the usual employees of Walkinshaw Andretti United, which enters two Holdens of the year for Scott Pye and James Courtney in Supercars.

“It’s 100% an item on the list of races to compete in, Rossi comments. It's one of those big six races alongside the Indy 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Bathurst is in front of us, so to be able to take advantage of this opportunity with Walkinshaw Andretti United whilst remaining 'at home' with the Andretti Autosport connection is very nice.

The learning curve is going to be serious and I am very aware of that. I have a few friends in Supercars, so I know how tough the competition is and how challenging this particular circuit is, but at the same time it's really exciting and something that's been a goal of mine for a long time. »
