The V01 Racing Renault RS8 driven by Braams-Pastorelli-Ramos-Braams wins the 12h of Mugello against the Audi R8 LMS and other Mercedes AMG GT3s.

A Renault wins the 12 hours of Mugello

The 12 Hours of Mugello, the second event of the 24 Hours Series contested in two parts, was won by the Renault RS01 n°333 of V8 Racing driven by Luc Braams, Nicky Pastorelli, Miguel Ramos and Max Braams. The Dutch team also won the A6-Pro category.

The French car won five laps ahead of the Mercedes n°10 of Hofor Racing of M. Kroll-Frankenhout-Heyer-Eggimann-C. Kroll and the No. 10 Grasser Racing Team Lamborgini of R. Ineichen-M. Ineichen-Amstutz-Engelhart.

The end of the race was marked by an impressive accident. The No.8 Optimus Motorsport Audi R14 LMS from Osborne-Haigh-Ratcliffe was battling for victory before being stopped on track due to a mechanical problem. The car with the rings was then hit at full speed by a competitor while the green flag was still in effect.

The #3 MP Sports Mercedes SLS AMG GT777 of Robert Kubica and Martin Prokop, accompanied by Müller-White-Onslow Cole, only finished in 44th place out of the 64 cars entered. The star-studded car was stopped an hour into the race following a broken suspension.

Pat's No. 3 Idec Sport Racing SLS AMG GT17. Lafargue-Pau. Lafargue-Abergel-Bottemanne won in A6-Am, finishing just off the podium.
