United Autosports doubles GT4 European Series lead at Monza

After their victory the day before in race 1, Charlie Fagg and Bailey Voisin confirmed today that they would have to reckon with the McLaren 570S GT4 from United Autosports this season in the GT4 European Series.

Starting from pole, Fagg led his entire stint, disrupted in the first and last moments by two neutralizations, the first following the accident involving theAston Martin Vantage – Mirage Racing at the first corner, the second the Porsche 718 Cayman n°22 – Allied Racing and the Mercedes-AMG n°126 – NM Racing.

At the restart, the leading McLaren waits until the last moment to return to the pit lane and make the change of drivers, which benefits the No. 4 Mercedes-AMG GT87 – AKKA-ASP of Jim Pla, surprised however by Nikolaj Moller-Madsen (Porsche 718 Cayman n°22 – Allied Racing), César Gazeau (Aston Martin Vantage n°27 – AGS Events) and Timothé Buret (Mercedes-AMG GT4 n°88 – AKKA-ASP).

Once the passages through the pitlane were completed, Bailey Voisin regained first place, chased by Antoine Potty and the Toyota GR Supra GT4 n°8 – CMR, in a remake of the duel from the day before. But the hierarchy will remain the same, for a double for United Autosports over the weekend.

The Silver Cup podium is completed by the Potty – Lémeret duo and the Lloveras – Ibanez pair (Mercedes-AMG GT4 n°15 – NM Racing), 6th overall. In Pro-Am, Grégory Guilvert and Fabien Michal (Audi R8 LMS GT4 n°42 – Saintéloc Racing) finished 3rd in the race overall and won in their category ahead of the BMW M4 GT4 n°12 – Borusan Motorsport de Bolukbasi – Besler and the No. 8 Audi R4 LMS GT77 – Team Fullmotorsport of Eric Clément – Romain Ianetta.

The Ghezzi – Giovanelli duo (Porsche 718 Cayman n°76 – Autorlando Sport) won in the Am Cup.
