V8 Supercars – Davison and Salo for Race 2

Will Davison and Mika Salo win Race 2 of the Gold Coast 600, beating the Holden Commodore of Jamie Whincup and Sébastien by a breath Bourdais victorious the day before. The second race was clearer than the first, but there were once again interruptions with the safety car coming out from the start when Peter Kox stalled on the grid. Sébastien Bourdais led the race at the restart ahead of Marc Lieb before the safety car returned to the track on lap 13 after a wall of tires was displaced by the Holden of Richard Lyons.

Sébastien Bourdais was able to complete his stint at the head of the race, but the Hoden n°1 fell to third following the change of drivers with Jamie Whincup. Will Davison took control of the race on the 80th lap by overtaking the leader Tim Slade at turn 4 while Jamie Whincup did the same on the next lap to move into second place. Tim Slade's Ford finally failed to reach the podium after being overtaken by Mark Winterbottom.
