Yamashita replaces Cassidy in Super GT

For the first time since 2000, a driver could obtain the Super GT crown alone. Indeed, Nick Cassidy will not race the last two rounds at Motegi and Mount Fuji. The TOM'S pilot prefers to concentrate on his program by Formula E with Virgin Racing, which begins with the November tests.

It will be replaced in the Toyota GR Supra by the Japanese Kenta Yamashita, already in the seat of a Toyota during the first meeting and third in the SuperFormula championship.

As a result, Ryo Hirakawa will be the only one in the No. 37 who can compete for the Super GT title. He currently sits second in the championship, just one point behind leaders Kazuya Oshima and Sho Tsuboi.
