Time passes and Hugh Barter continues his merry way at the head of the 2022 F4 France season. Leader since the first meeting of the year at Nogaro, the Australian confirmed this Saturday at Magny-Cours that he was indeed the strong man of this first part of the campaign.
Author of pole position Friday afternoon, the Australian had no trouble converting it into victory this Saturday morning near Nièvre. With a very good reaction to the lights going out, Hugh Barter held on as he approached the first corner, sheltering himself from possible attacks from his pursuers.
If Elliott Vayron, part 3e and reassembled 2e the 1e round, tried to put pressure on him for a while, the championship leader did not flinch and quickly let go of his counterpart to give himself some air. It was with a margin of just over a second that Hugh Barter then crossed the finish line after a relatively calm end of the race where it was mainly a question of management for the main person concerned.
It is behind Hugh Barter and Elliott Vayron that this Race 1 of 3e meeting of the season has become somewhat lively. In the fight for 3e step on the podium throughout the race, Lorens Lecertua and Dario Cabanelas made contact less than 5 minutes from the checkerboard. If the first city was able to reach the finish in 5e position despite a damaged front wing, the second was forced to retire after a puncture. Their battle benefited Souta Arao who took 3e place and to Alessandro Giusti, member of the AUTOhebdo Rookie Academy, who finished just off the podium. Also note the beautiful comeback of Enzo Peugeot , 7e on the finish line after starting from 13e position on the grid.
