Enzo Deligny confides before his debut in F4 Spain: “Rather confident about our ability to be at the front”

How do you feel just moments away from starting in F4 Spain?

I'd say it's okay. I was quite fast during the winter tests. However, for this first round, it is much warmer and that changes the way of driving a little but also the behavior of the car. We understood yesterday (Thursday) that we had to change a few settings on the car and I, for my part, had to adapt my driving style. We will have to adapt quickly, from qualifying (this Friday). Overall, I'm pretty confident in our ability to be up front. We should be able to fight for podiums and why not for victories.

Is this your first experience at Spa-Francorchamps?

No not at all. A month ago I was able to take part in the collective tests (of F4 Spain) here. At that time, it was not much colder in Belgium. I signed on 2^e chrono but the temperature difference between my two visits changes a lot of things. It's completely different.

How have you felt at Spa-Francorchamps so far?

It's a circuit that I like. You have to have a lot of confidence in yourself but also in the car because it's not a particularly easy track, especially in the second sector where there are lots of fast turns. Overall, I enjoy driving there.

You were at Imola for a stint in F4 Italy where you scored three points finishes. Does this round allow you to arrive well prepared for F4 Spain?

This round was very useful to me. I was able to have a first experience of a racing weekend without a lot of pressure. I was with a team (AKM Motorsport) that hadn't scored points for a long time (2021 season). Above all, it was a weekend to learn how starts, Safety Cars work, but also overtaking, defending, etc. I now have an idea of ​​how it works.

Are you in the same state of mind as in Imola where it was just a freelance?

It's totally different. This time it counts for real. I know that you have to perform, especially from the start. On the other hand, that doesn't mean I'm going to have a different state of mind when I get in the car. I will try to do the best possible.

What can we wish you for the future?

My goal is to win the championship but it won't be easy. It will be very competitive because there are also some drivers who are repeating. It's going to take a lot of work to achieve this.
