F4 Germany will now be done without R-ace GP, or almost. Present on the other side of the Rhine since 2019, the Vendée team has decided to put an end to its German program to concentrate fully on F4 Italy in 2022. “ We are going to do Italy and not the F4 ADAC, told us Thibaut de Merindol, founder of R-ace GP, who does not exclude a presence on a few rounds in Germany as they had already been able to do in 2021 with the Italian F4. Mbut we will be happy full time in Italy he confirmed.

A choice guided by the increase in the level of the transalpine championship while the German was losing momentum. “ We spent 3 years in Germany to learn F4, continues Thibaut de Merindol. There is no criticism to be made of the German championship, because it is very well organized, the calendar and the circuits are of quality, as is the organization. When we arrived, the F4 driver market was balanced between Germany and Italy in 2018. We supported the championship in 2021 by remaining loyal to them despite the few cars on the grid but R-ace GP wishes to enter the most competitive championships. And the place where the best drivers and teams are is in Italy now. We have to be there."

F4 Germany has indeed suffered over the last two seasons, with Covid. In 2019 no less than 15 pilots were engaged full-time. A figure in perpetual decline since 10 cars contested the entire campaign in 2020 and only 9 in 2021.
