The French F4 Championship in a new era in 2022

Started in 2017, the collaboration between the French Automobile Sport Federation and Mygale continues in 2022. Equipped with an engine Alpine prepared by Oreca, the new French Formula 4 also has a new turbo. This new version called M21-F4 therefore offers significant performance gains but also a safety halo. « The French F4 Championship is the first stage of our high level policy on the circuit, it has thus seen the evolution of many renowned drivers like Pierre Gasly. Operated through our federal training center based in Le Mans, our one-make competition is unique in its kind. The only European championship where all drivers ride under the common entity of the FFSA Academy, it reconciles financial accessibility and sporting fairness. For next season, French F4 continues its momentum by adopting the new F4 FIA Mygale generation 2 single-seaters, with increased performance but also increased safety. », declares Nicolas Deschaux, President of the French Motor Sport Federation, about this new era for F4.

A discipline that aims to be more accessible in 2022 with prices “the most competitive on the market. » « 2022 will see the arrival of the FIA F4 generation 2. The federation has chosen to invest in these new F4s from next year, on the one hand to be in compliance with FIA regulations with in particular the new safety elements like the halo and on the other hand to remain competitive on the European market. After testing the Mygale Renault generation 2, this proves to be much more efficient than the current one and should better prepare pilots for the transition to F3. », judge for his part Christophe Lollier, National Technical Director of the French Motor Sport Federation.
