If F4 Germany will not be on the program of the sporting calendar across the Rhine, the ADAC has nevertheless announced that it wants to continue its involvement in Formula 4. Last December, the German automobile federation formalized an agreement with the FFSA with the commitment to an ADAC Formula Junior Team in 2023. Its three representatives were announced this Monday, with three young German drivers registered for F4 France this season.

Finn Wiebelhaus, Tom Kalender and Max Reis will be the members of this new 100% German team. The first two cities will make their debut in car after successful careers in karting. Finn Wiebelhaus, 16, is notably champion of the ADAC Kart Masters 2022. Tom Kalender, 14, came 2nd in the junior category of the German karting championship and will gain his first experience in single-seaters.

The ADAC Formula Junior Team also welcomes a repeater in Formula 4, Max Reis. The young 16-year-old driver participated in the French F4 series last year, including a podium in Pau. The German finished in 15th place in the championship.

A round of F4 France in Germany?

The ADAC Formula Junior Team will participate in the 21 races of the 2023 calendar, out of the seven meetings planned for the French F4 championship. A calendar which could still evolve, since doubt remains as to the Italian meeting, in Misano (July 15-16). This could be replaced by another meeting held… in Germany.

If the partnership between the ADAC and the FFSA really takes shape during the first race of the season, in Nogaro at the beginning of April, it could lead to a joint Franco-German championship in the future. In the pipeline a few years ago, it could see the light of day as early as 2024.
