Fuji Trials. Sacha Fenestraz sets the best time

Sacha Fenestraz is already on the pace before the start of the Super Formula season. The Franco-Argentinian set the best time in the second official test session, held in Fuji on March 22 and 23. A first session was carried out two weeks ago, at the Suzuka circuit.

The first day of the two-day sessions took place in gloomy weather with rain and snow, the afternoon session was even canceled. Still, the two-day test provided a glimpse into the intensity of the competition this season. The time difference between each car was very small and the top 17 cars out of 21 total were within one second.　

Sacha Fenestraz (KONDO RACING – engine Toyota) signed the best lap. He was the only one to cross the 1 minute 21 second mark to sign 1'20"953. “We tried a lot of things during these sessions. I think we had a very good test before the season opened. Above all, it was also good for the team that we completed the tests with the best time. I of course want to maintain this momentum to start the season. » The Super Formula championship begins with a double headers in Fuji (April 9 and 10)

The second fastest driver was Sho Tsuboi (CERUMO INGING – Toyota), with a time of 1’21”147. The fastest Honda rider was Tomoki Nojiri (Team Mugen), reigning champion, who set the 5th time, in 1'21"365. Giuliano Alesi (Tom's – Toyota) finished practice with the 6th best lap (1'21.418).
