Super Formula – The calendar finally revealed

You don't change a recipe that works. Approved by the Japan Automobile Federation, the calendar for the 2022 season was announced on Monday and will feature a total of 7 rounds, the same number as in recent years. Still two formats will be offered to the general public with weekends with one race and others with two for a total of three double-headers over the year.

Like the previous campaign, the opening round will take place on the Fuji track. The island of Honshū will therefore host two meetings out of the seven on the calendar. The same goes for the Suzuka track which will even be the scene of the closing of the 2022 season. The historic tracks of the Japanese championship such as Autopolis, Sugo and Motegi will also be visited.

Two French people are in the running for the championship: Sacha Fenestraz and Giuliano Alesi. Both at the wheel of a Toyota. The Franco-Argentinian will race under the colors of Kondo Racing and the Avignonnais will represent Kuo Vantelin Team Tom's. 

The season schedule: 

• Fuji – April 9/10
• Suzuka – April 23/24
• Autopolis – May 21/22
• Sugo – June 18/19
• Fuji – July 16/17 
• Motegi – August 20/21 
• Suzuka – October 29/30
